ESD / Antistatic Packaging

Electronic components face a risk that cannot be seen: electrostatic discharge. Static charge built up in a human body discharges the moment a circuit board is touched, and either destroys the component outright or leaves latent damage that shortens its life. The second case is the more dangerous one, because the part passes test and fails in the field.

ESD packaging prevents that discharge. Antistatic film keeps charge from accumulating on its surface and isolates the part inside from charges outside, so the component travels protected from the warehouse to the assembly line.

PCBs and circuit boards, sensors, automotive electronics and precision measuring equipment are the typical applications. Production is made to size: a pack that fits the part is more efficient than a stock size, both for protection and for storage volume. On request, product codes, batch numbers and warning marks are printed on the pack.
