Shrink film is a polyethylene film that contracts under heat and takes the shape of the product. It is used to gather several items into one pack, to close a carton against dust and moisture, or to stabilise a palletised load. Poşetsan Date produces this film on its own extrusion lines; width and micron are set by the dimensions of what is being wrapped.
Choosing the right micron decides the economics of the job. Thin film costs less but punctures on sharp-cornered goods and the pack opens in transit; film thicker than needed is material wasted on every single pack. In practice the weight of the product, its corner geometry and the distance it will travel are weighed together.
Winding and widths are produced to suit both small workshops using a hand gun and automatic lines with a shrink tunnel. On shelf-facing products the clarity and gloss of the film matter as much as the pack itself, so material and process settings are chosen to preserve both. Puncture and tear resistance keep the pack intact through shipping.
Telling us the width, length and height of the product, whether a single item or a multipack is being wrapped, and whether the application is manual or by machine lets us find the right film structure on the first attempt.
